The child then forgets that every thing - every little creature - is unique. Every other bird is confined within a concept already moulded and defined inside the mind of the child by what s/he knows thus far. We use labels, because it's conventional. But at the same time it steals away our ability to break out of the concept itself. The word "bird" in itself has a universally conceptual, abstract meaning which could be applied to everything that fits under the "bird" umbrella of taxonomy, but it is not concrete. It turns the creature, and every other creature, into an idea. If the child is never taught of the taxonomical concept, every bird is unique, despite their similarities between one another - because they are not "birds," but other creatures that look alike and can produce viable offspring. The child then experiences reality in its concrete entirety, not through pre-moulded ideas.
Everything you know is a concept. The idea that you live on earth is a concept. The idea that it is air that you breathe is a concept. Words and labels can never give you reality - they only point towards it. But from then on, you're on your own(source: hm)

raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her fingertips

“last night i wept. i wept because the process by which i have become woman was painful. i wept because i was no longer a child with a child's blind faith. i wept because my eyes were opened to reality....i wept because i could not believe anymore and i love to believe. i can still love passionately without believing. that means i love humanly. i wept because i have lost my pain and i am not yet accustomed to its absence.”
―anaïs nin

the start

another side blog. this is merely an inpirational blog where i'll primarily post my own works, mostly photographs and at times writings and such. once in a while, i may post edits of k-fashion and k-pop. hope you'll enjoy my blog!
